Down & Out limited was, founded by Zion Davidson at age 5 for the nourishment of the lives of the people of the world. Zion's Mission Statement, "I want to help," this illuminating statement of compassion remains the beacon to feed the land and the people. Down and Out as the elder K-NO said is that "This place is home for any who need it, and all are welcome. Everyone is welcome here" The community grew out of necessity; without it those Down & Outers who happened upon the wild and unkempt forests of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, would have no peaceful rest. Countless travelers have found the people of Down and Out and have stood together in this place year after year.

All who reside within Down and out are from without, it has stood as a waystation, a place of love and friendship for nearly 8 years. The land takes no managers, no rulers, no kings. All are welcome. Many of us have spent our life wandering, searching for truth and compassion, abandoning power and excess. The world is the people, and freedom belongs to all or none. Down and out continues to stand for a brighter, more sustainable future for tomorrow's children and honor the elders who came before. Many struggles have come and passed, loved ones passed, and others continue to remain as silent as a ghost. The people of Down and Out will always be here for the people of the world.
